Let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me.
I am based in Somerset and My passion is for handmade craft of Decoupage.
I began this beautiful art/skill 15 years ago and educated myself with all available techniques.
I especially enjoy tutoring those who want to gain an extra skill.
My specialties are working with glass, wood, and ceramics.
My work has been received well in workshops and at craft fairs.
I am so pleased to be part of the lovely group of artisans at Craft Workshops at the Barn and can't wait to begin this journey.
I look forward to meeting you all very soon.

Crafting is my happy place and any spare time I have after working and family, you will find me crafting.
Whether that's watercolour painting, making crepe paper flowers, cross stitch, embroidery or designing and making my little creatures.
I love to share my joy of crafting with others and hopefully will see you soon.

Katie Sims

I'm a Somerset-based artist and qualified art educator with over seven years of experience, including as Head of Art. Inspired by the landscapes of the South-West, my work explores the deep connection between people and nature through sensory experience, memory, and ecology.

In 2025, I committed full-time to my creative practice and to leading inclusive workshops that help people of all ages reconnect with their creativity and the natural world.

Highlights:
• PGCE in Art & Photography
• Collaborating with The Thousand Year Trust (Cabilla Valley)
• Featured on Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year (2022)
• Exhibited in Taunton, Bristol, Falmouth, and London
